Decide Where You Will Host Your Website
Choose and Register A Domain Name
|
Building a website is fun, but it is time
consuming. You will most likely make changes and adjust the
content and layout of your website several times before you are
satisfied with your creation. Your website needs a solid
foundation, so choose your webhosting company carefully.
Free Webhosting
Free
webhosting is an option. The negative aspects of using
free webhosting are as follows:
- They only provide a
limited amount of space, which could prevent you from
adding to or building your website bigger.
- They only allow your
website to use a very limited amount of bandwidth per
month. This means if your website begins generating too
much traffic you will either be forced to pay or risk
have your webpage removed.
- They almost always
place banners and/or pop ads on your site. These banner
ads will cause your website to load slowly and more
often than not they clash with your layout.
- The url address to
your website will be long and hard to remember vs.
www.your-domain-name.com
- No guarantee that the
free webhosting will remain free. The free
webhosting servers usually reserve the right to remove
your website at anytime, without warning or explanation.
They do not care how much work or time you have
spent building your website.
I personally do not recommend using a free webhosting
server. It is like building a highway on sand. In heavy
traffic the foundation will sink. |
